Fangsnatchers, the Raiders of the Jungle

Deep in the untamed wilderness of Chult, where the dense jungle conceals both danger and treasure, our band of goblin raiders—Sneaky Snaga, Grash the Mad, Slitfang the Poisoner, Big Gub, and Wograt the Slyblade—embarked on a daring escapade to plunder the wealth of the human and dwarven merchants. What started as a simple ambush on a trade route turned into a battle of wits, brutality, and pure goblin chaos.

The Ambush on the Trade Road

The Fangsnatchers, hidden among the foliage, struck with precision as a merchant caravan trundled along the muddy road. Sneaky Snaga, living up to his name, tried to swiftly disabled the alarm horn before it could summon reinforcements but failed. Grash the Mad hurled himself into the fray with terrifying ferocity, his cackling laughter striking fear into the hapless humans. Slitfang the Poisoner cleverly coated his daggers with jungle venom, felling a guard dog before it could sink its teeth into Big Gub, who was busy toppling an entire wagon with his brute strength. Wograt the Slyblade danced between foes, slashing and weaving, his blade a blur of cunning precision.

The spoils? A small fortune in gold, dwarven tools, and, to Wograt’s delight, a fancy wooden box. Grash the Mad tried to smash the box but threw it all wrong and the box bounced back right in the middle of his snarling face. Slitfang took one look at the box and oppened it with ease. Inside, was a paper with written signs. Only Grash could read it and found hints that a big shipment was due to leave the Dwarven mines with considerable wealth in gems.

The Final Raid: Robbing the Big Shipment

The joyous band of Goblins moved under secret passages in the jungle, under the river, to avoid the guarded bridge and to intercept the heavily guarded caravan transporting a shipment of gold and gems. This was no ragtag group of merchants—these were seasoned dwarf miners with a formidable dwarven captain at their helm. The battle was brutal. Wograt and Sneaky Snaga led a diversionary attack on the road. Grash, ever the madman, charged headlong into the dwarven mercenary, engaging in a bloody one-on-one duel. Slitfang’s poison finished off a wounded guard.

Desperate the battle was about to be lost, the dwarf Captain shouted his miners to "Set it on fire". Only Sneaky Snaga understood the dwarf language, and he shouted at his fellow goblins to watch out for typical dwarven treachery. Two of the miners threw some weird stones onto the cart. Big Gub managed to hit one of the stones away from the cart, but the other one hit and started a roaring fire in the cart. Big Gub ran off, afraid of what might happen next. Grash the Mad tipped the cart in an attempt to stop the fire, and a barrel rolled off the cart. When the fire reached the barrel, a huge explosion sounded, killing off Slitfang and wounding Grash severely.

However, Grash, still stunned, gathered his wits and picked up the gems quickly, before any of his friends could get to the scene of the explosion. The goblins melted back into the jungle, leaving a scene of carnage in their wake. The dwarves would remember this night for years to come, but by then, the Fangsnatchers would already be planning their next heist—perhaps one involving an even bigger prize.

The Aftermath: Trouble on the Horizon?

Drunk on their newfound wealth and success, the goblins celebrated deep within their hidden jungle hideout. But victory came with consequences—word had spread of the daring bandits who had humiliated both humans and dwarves.

Rumors swirled that a local lord had placed a bounty on their heads, and worse yet, adventurers were being hired to hunt them down.

Would the Fangsnatchers lay low and enjoy their spoils, or would their hunger for mischief lead them into even greater peril?
